Talpe is a quiet village on Sri Lanka's South Coast with coconut palm fringed beach stretching for miles to the north and south. The popular holiday resort, Unawatuna, in only a kilometer away. The serene Koggala river and the cinnamon estates in the interior can be reached by a short walk or by tuk tuk.

​

Traveling around is not difficult since you can walk or cycle to the nearby places of attraction and public, transport is easily available on the main Galle - Matara road.

WHALE WATCHING

Whale watching is one of the many amazing activities

available along Sri Lanka's southern coast.

These enormous and magnificent creatures aren’t afraid to show themselves to the public and many different tours are established to offer the opportunity to sight these awe inspiring sea mammals.

SURFING

Talpe is a perfect gateway for your surf explorations of Sri lanka's South and West Coast. There are some excellent reef breaks close by. Most major surf spots on Sri Lanka's South Coast can be reached within half an hour.

SNORKELING & SWIMMING WITH TURTLES

Swimming with turtles is an extraordinary experience,

which many people only dream of.

It is pure magic to see and be present in the company of these animals in their natural habitat. In addition to the turtles, there are also many other beautiful fish one can encounter at the reef.

UNESCO HERITAGE SITE GALLE FORT

Visit The UNESCO site of Galle Fort, a fort built by the Portuguese and Dutch during the colonial period.

The fort and the immediate surrounding area is a beautiful combination of religions and traditions - influenced by the wide variety of cultures of the different people who have lived there over the years, as well as those currently residing there. It has recently developed into a hotspot for shopping, cafes, restaurants and bars making it a quaint blend of old and modern.

KOGGALA STILT FISHERMEN

An old and remote fishing technique is used in the Southern province

of Sri Lanka that is a sight worth seeing.

 

The fishermen's poles are created so that the fishermen can sit on them to fish in deeper waters. It is recommended to go there around 5pm as it combines sunset, ocean and Sri Lankan tradition in to one beautiful experience.
